Dr. Reza Nejat
Anesthesiologist, FCCM
I, Dr. Reza Nejat, am an Iranian board-certified Anesthesiologist and Fellow of Critical Care Medicine. After graduating from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) as a general practitioner, I could obtain the ECFMG certificate and, upon being admitted in Anesthesiology residency programme at Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), I could pass board-certification exam in Anesthesiology successfully. Passing the fellowship programme in Critical Care Medicine (CCM) at Sina Hospital, TUMS, I have been practicing as an intensivist since 2014. During this period, studying molecular medicine in the field of sepsis, immunology, acute heart failure and neuro-critical care fascinated me. The field of molecular medicine led me to study deeply in COVID-19 which till now resulted in publishing five papers.
Directing few hospitals prior to be working and practicing as a faculty member and an assistant professor at Dept. of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (2008-2015) was a precious endeavor and experience in my life.
I also published four books in the fields of cardiology, nephrology, fluid and electrolyte, nutrition, metabolism and endocrinology. In 2018, contribution to the chapter of “Acute Heart Failure” in the reference book “Comprehensive Textbook of Therapeutics” inspired me once again to start narrating reviews and original articles; this book was selected as the reference text for pharmacotherapy fellows in TUMS and could also achieve Iranian scholarly book of the year award).
From 2021 on, I peer-reviewed a few manuscripts submitted to Medical Hypotheses Journal, Elsevier, and Scientific Reports, Springer Nature, Publishing companies. After being invited, I have recently been admitted as a member of Editorial Board of Review of Cell Science Journal, PRIME open access publications.
